The Original State
Our first visit to the premises in Barcelona revealed a space frozen in time, marked by years of neglect and evident structural degradation. This former commercial space, with its direct entrance from the sidewalk, presents the challenge of being transformed into a cozy and secure residential refuge. The ground floor, which in the future will house an integrated living-dining room with a modern kitchen, is currently in a raw state, where the original facilities have completely collapsed. The bathroom and the internal patio, two of the fundamental pieces of this metamorphosis, require total intervention to regain their functionality and provide the necessary cross-ventilation.

First Actions
The technical demolition phase has been fundamental to free the original volume of the premises and understand its true scale. After removing the old commercial coatings and partitions, we have been able to accurately diagnose the state of the floor slabs and load-bearing walls. This initial stage has focused on deep cleaning the space, eliminating obsolete elements and preparing the ground for the new supply facilities. The discovery of the 'naked' structure now allows us to accurately trace the lines of the new project.

Evolution of the Work
The work has entered an exciting phase where the plans begin to materialize in three dimensions. The drywall profiles already define the contours of the new room, allowing visual spatial fluidity between the sleeping area and the patio. In the bathroom area, the new plumbing and sanitation facilities are already in place, marking the end of past infrastructure problems. It can be seen how the light from the patio begins to bathe the interiors, transforming the perception of a dark local into a bright and vibrant home.
